As the Director of the University of Maryland Cancer Center Biostatistics Unit, Dr. Thompson was also involved in the design of numerous Phase II studies and has actively participated over the years in trials of oncology, cardiology and septic shock to establish clinical activity for treatments (Phase IIa) and larger scale investigations to establish the final dose to be used in upcoming Phase III studies.
